// Notes

show notes: such a weird gig this was. not bad-weird, just weird-weird in short: coming from Fairbanks, had NO idea Voi-Vod was opening. we hardly EVER get 'national' opening acts here in Alaska, so, for the first time ever, the 20m or so of their set I was able to capture when walking in 25m before showtime and finding out they were opening...perhaps if I'd lived in Anchorage we'd have been aware, but that was a major bummer, to UNintentionally miss an opening band (like, for example, when Spacehog opened for Aerosmith in '98, that was an EASY one to skip ;) ) and yes, I ***will*** torrent the never-circulated Voi-Vod, but it may have a lotta "?'s" for the song titles...pretty sure they did "Astronomy Domine" near the end, beyond that, no idea (it's a 4-5 song fragment, I believe) the Egan Center is notorious for poor acoustics, but with my tapers guile, I do believe those demons were kept at bay. just listen to the attached samples! final show of their world tour......FIVE song mini-Priest set at the end of the show.......PLUS Cheech & Chong's "Earache My Eye".....Halford hitting ALL the highs, but nothing louder than anything else. don't make him fight you. his name is dandrew. THANK him for his quick turnaround in this newfound "crank out the heavies" endeavor.... as for me, a healthy "Fuck Off" won't bring any fisticuffs from this end....verbal or otherwise...promise. what's next from the "warehouse of goodies"??? stay tuned!!!!
