^ Features Analise (Vex) on keyboards. # Pre-recorded playback. When John Bush announced these 3 special shows over the summer (LA, Chicago & NY), I knew I had to figure out a way to be at one. "The Sound of White Noise" was a mainstay in my 6 CD changer all throughout highschool with the other 3 Bushthrax albums not far behind in rotation. For one reason or another, I never got to see Anthrax with John Bush live. God knows I had plenty of chances, but I never prioritized it. Twenty plus years later (while still having those albums in my yearly rotation), hearing the news brought a huge smile to my face. Driving the 400 miles to St. Charles was probably my best shot. Thankfully, there was no winter weather in the way. The setlist was everything I could have wanted minus 1 or 2 songs ("Riding Shotgun", "Packaged Rebellion", etc). One of my absolute favorites - "Crush", was not played the first night in LA but was played here in St. Charles to my immediate shock and surprise. "Black Lodge" was also one of the highlights which featured the incredible Analise on keyboards (who played a nice intro piece to it. Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante was in attendance and was seen prior to the show walking the theater. When he walked by our section, we called out to him and got a nice hello as he walked by. We all immediately began to speculate that he might get on stage and play a song, but it was not meant to be. Still, so incredibly cool that he was there supporting John playing those tunes they wrote and recorded together. I really hope John decides to do more of these shows in the next year or two, but if he doesn't, at least I made it to this one. That was important to me. John's other band (of many), Category 7 opened the show, (which was the exact same lineup) as the solo headlining band. Their opening set will be shared and torrented separately. Category 7 opened.
